North Tuncurry Mixed Use Development - EPBC 2011/5954 Public Environment Report Exhibition
Public Exhibition of North Tuncurry mixed use development, The Lakes Way, Tuncurry (EPBC 2011/5954).
Landcom and the Crown Lands Division of the NSW Department of Planning and Environment are proposing a mixed use development at the Lakes Way in North Tuncurry in the MidCoast Local Government Area, NSW.
The proposal is to develop approximately 227 ha of the study area to create up to 2,100 residential lots, 13 ha of employment land, a new local neighbourhood centre, tourist, community and educational facilities and a relocated golf course in 25 stages over approximately 35 years. The proposal will also create a 318 ha permanent conservation area to protect and manage threatened species.
The proposed ‘action’ has been determined to be a “controlled action” under the EPBC Act. The controlling provision under the EPBC Act is “Listed threatened species and communities” (Sections 18 and 18A).
The Commonwealth Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment advised that the project will be assessed through a Public Environment Report.
The Public Environment Report for the proposed action will be on display in hard copy for 20 business days from 20 June to 18 July 2022 at the following locations:

An application to rezone the land under the NSW Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and to biodiversity certify the land proposed for development under the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Act was on exhibition until 17 June 2022 at https://pp.planningportal.nsw.gov.au/draftplans/exhibition/north-tuncurry-urban-release-area
